Hey i have a 1966 ford truck i use for plowing and gathering wood , well i broke my driver side front axle ... total destruction of the u-joint inside . Ive looked on ebay and i cant seem to find a 19 spline inside and outside ( wheel side ) axle for it . is this a rare one ? or can someone point me in the right direction to find one ? thanks

- Interests:I love restoring trucks,old or newer. The oldest I have put back on all four is 1965, the newest basket case is 1993. I have restored more 73 thru 79 than any others. My favorite year is 1979. at one time I had as many as 28 trucks, I have lots less now. If interested I do have access to lots of parts still, 4x4 and otherwise but not too many Sno-fighter Dana-60 Front-ends though. Those were the chosen few from 78-and 79 one-tons and 250's.

The open knuckle front-ends came along about 1973 with disc brakes and all.
It might be easier to find a replacement f-250 big lock-out 3800 Dana 44 open knuckle front-end for around $150.00 or so.
Guys were changing the open-knuckled "44's" for "Snow-fighter Dana 60's" found in 1978/79 era F250/350.
Sometimes you can find the 44's for around $150.00 or so. The Dana 60 snow fighters high penions are much much more like $ 1000,00 to $1500.00 or so. E-Bay is a good place to start looking.
