I have a 1978 f250, it had a 400 in it, mated to a 4 speed, the 460 motor came out of a 76? ish interceptor, I was wondering what clutch / flywheel combo i can use , id rather not spend 500$ for the 2 from jeff's bronco graveyard, whats the easyest/ cheapest options?
460 swap, clutch ?

use a 390 flywheel and clutch not 360/352 there smaller they bolt right on. the engine has to be internaly balanced to use this to check that look behind the damper if there's no flyweight on the spacer its internal if it's external use a 83 up flywheel and bell housing you'll have to convert to hydrolic clutch or cut the mounting bracket off the bell to get your old bell crank to workI have a 1978 f250, it had a 400 in it, mated to a 4 speed, the 460 motor came out of a 76? ish interceptor, I was wondering what clutch / flywheel combo i can use , id rather not spend 500$ for the 2 from jeff's bronco graveyard, whats the easyest/ cheapest options?

reman flywheel threw autozone is 72.99 it does how ever have a 90.00 dollar core charge but you can always take back your 400 one later they wont know the difference lol and a clutch kit 125.00 to 220.00 depending what type clutch your running no need to switch from the old z bar to hydro keep it simple just talk to any parts store and go threw the books its not that hard but you do need to know if your motor is internall externall balance for sure hope this helps a little
