Hey Folks. Im new to this forum, and im glad to be here. I have a question about the best choice for a performance exhaust system, duals if possible, for a 1992 Bronco XLT, 5.8L intake, 351hp. It has Hooker Headers and im not sure what kind of single exhaust now. It gets great sound, but its almost piercing when I goose it. Im looking for a very aggressive sound, with out it sounding like a Kazoo on Crack. Any suggestions?

Take a peek under your truck. Even headers should not make a sharp noise if paired with a decent muffler. My bet is your running something glasspackish, or straight pipes. I have a Flowmaster DeltaFlow 50, and it sounds great.

Dual FLow maters is the way to go. Not much restriction and gives a nice sound. Its loud but powerful sounding. Not like a Kazu
Wheel it like you stole it!

Thanks for the advice. Im 17, and trying todo my own mods to my Bronco. I use it as an everyday vehicle as well as 4x4, so i cant really trick it out to be a true 4x4. I recently put a 4in BDS suspension kit on it as well as some Dakota 33s and Outlaw Rims. It looks Sharp. Im going to post picture if anyone is interested. By the way, I dont ever want to put a lift kit on a truck again!

I have the single 3" inlet, dual 2.25" outlet Delta 50. Man, it's sounding better every day. I'm going to try to haul my laptop out and make a soundbite.

I bet it does. Im still looking for duals though. It sucks, we have to have Cats. on our exhaust in Ohio. When I drive through Indiana it seems like every one and there mom has a great sounding truck.

I have a buddy that has the same truck as me, but one year older. We both have the FIPK, he has true duals, flowmaster 40 series. I have nearly the same torque/hp curve on the dyno.

I have shorty headers running into the stock collector, a 3" pipe back to the cat, then into the single 50 series (it might be a single muffler, but it's twice the size), which has two 2.25" outlets. He might have 2 hp better than me, but he also has no cats. I'm legal.

I've heard that if you go true dual and two cats that emissions can be an issue. The cats have to heat up to perform well, and with two pipes the exhaust temp drops dramatically, esp. if you are using flowmasters. Just something to think about.

I was well warned with my curent exhaust. My dad was extremely worried that I wouldnt pass, but she did with flying colors. But I do agree, it very well could pose a problem.

I know you say your looking for duals but I'll throw this in there I'm running a Gibson header (nice think flanges) and a Single 3in Gibson SS exhaust sys, sounds good nice flow, Gibson didn't make a dual for my 90 bronco but maybe for your year, I've had flowmaster but I like the Gibson better..

just a note, bronco_blues, unless you have done some pretty extensive mods, your bronco isnt 351hp but 351 cubic inches. i wish mine had 351 horses.

As of right now, here is a list of all the mods I have made on the Truck:
1)4"BDS Lift Kit
2)33x12.5x15 Dakota Tires
3)12.5x15 Out Law Rims, Polished metal.
4)Hooker Headers
5)Detroit Locker
6)Manual Locking Hubs
7) Sylvania Ultra White lights
8) Herculiner Tailgate (soon to be the entire floor)
9) K&N Air Filter
10)Performance exhaust, cat back
11)Sony Explode Sound System.
12) Bazooka Subs w/ 800 watt Amp. (Not for Rap)
----------------------------------------------------------
Wish list:
1)Better Axles
2)Compression Brake
3)Heavy Deuty Steering Box
4)Bored Out to a larger ci measure
5)Manuel Trany
6)new factory White paint job.
7)Soft Top
8) JET Chip

What is the next mod I should make guys and girls? Im looking to beef up my HP, but i think i need to spend some time strengthening up so i dont have some nasty breaks on the trail. I think the next thing is a Jake brake, or something like it. The new tires are hard as hel to slow down.
