As you can see it is raining pretty hard in SE texas right now (June 16th) But earlier I went to my lifeguarding job and it wasnt raining to hard at all. Then it all hit!
The pool overflowed and my boss called and told me I could go home, but my cousin, who works with me, had a spyder eclipse GT convertible and I didn't want to see her try to get through our neighborhood. So she took her car down to my garage and parked it. BTW our neighborhood floods the worst out of our city and many cars stall out. But as I look out of the front door of the pool I see a Lincoln spinning its tires in the ditch. So being the good samaritan I am..haha, I went to go see if I could give them a ride or something. I didn't have a tow strap w/ me so thats what I asked and I noticed the water was rising I told them I would go home and get a tow strap since it was only down the road. So I went and as I was going through the water in the street, the water was up to the middle of the bronc between the 2 tires. and when I went through a slope water went all the way up to my spare tire cover!! But not inside. Well anyway I brought back the tow strap and hooked up and just as he told me to go ahead and pull up, I said "WAIT" I got out my camera and snapped a picture. (It was not a digital so ill have to get it developed later.) and then pulled him out w/ ease. I love my bronc.
Then he gave his thanks, I was surprised he didnt give me money (lincoln and all) but I really didnt care.
So I went back to the pool and was telling my cousin that we are about to leave. As we were about to leave a black truck pulled up and it was the guy I pulled out and he told me to write my name and number down on a paper he had. I wonder why????
But it was a crazy experience..water ranged from an inch in some places to 2 feet. Im glad no water got in my interior but it did get passed my echo tips when i went through a slope or two.
I cant wait to get those pics developed!!!!! ILl post them when I can

Oh man! You shouldn't have given him your #. If you are lucky he wants your # for future pulls. But he could have called his insurance because of some damage to the car when he got stuck and mentioned you pulled him out. Well most of the time the insturance company will want your information so you will be held liable for any damaged that might have occured while pulling him out. This is an easy out for his insurance company. Thats why here in Washington State when it snows I have people sign a piece of paper stating I am not liable for any damages that might occure due to pulling out the vehicle. This keeps us clear. Although thats worst case scenario. Good luck!

Are there any other reasons why he might have asked for my number?

My first thought is exactly what Broncoholics said. He might send you some money but I wouldn't count on it. How did you hook up to his car?

GREAT!
If his insurance co. calls you make sure you tell them HE hooked the straps up to HIS car.
That might let you off the hook.

He may just want to send you a thank you card, or gift. I had the same thing happen to me, but it was a teenage girl. Her father sent me a weekend golf package @ Kiawah including Villa.
But, if I were you, I would check my local laws, South Carolina has a GOOD SAMARITAN law, that protects us from court room junkies. May want to check with your insurance co also.

They have the same GOOD SAMARITAN law here in New Jersey.....but I aint so good. If I pull someone out of a snow bank, or use the plow to plow them out......my fee starts at $50 just to drop the blade.....and thats even if its a fine looking, young, well built, and willing female!

Ktomek06, I was in Bay City at lunchtime today. Folks, it rained 8 inches in less than two hours, a real "frog strangler"!!! Water was 3-4 feet deep in the streets, and I just turned around and went home. I wouldn't sweat too much qabout the dude asking for a number, he probably wants to thany you and not mess you up with insurance and such. 99% of the folks here are good people, and just like Kyle will offer to help without asking for money.
I was at the old high school baseball park yesterday evening and thought I saw you drive by around 8 PM. The Bronco looked really clean!!!

Yeppp!! That was me I live in the subdivision right around the corner from there..Del Norte? Yeah the pool I work at is in my neighborhood! Im pretty sure that was me. There is only one other bronco like mine, it has no spare cover, no brush guard, no echo tips, and no bug deflector.
Thx, I have been looking foward to seeing you but havent got the chance. I surprised I didn't see yours I have a keen eyesight for broncs..I usually spot them everywhere. What were you doin there? Where were u parked? Baseball game I'm sure.
Im gone till tuesday for a big fishing trip w/ my dad and others to Port Mansfield!
