I have a 77 f-150 2wd that I need to move the steering box or do something different with because I need more room to bring the headers thru the inner fenderwall area. Right now it is set up with a power steering setup.
Great site here with a lot of info, thought someone might have a idea. Thanks

What brand of headers is that?
I have an 82 351w withe what I consider to be not so block hugging and I have plenty of room for the headers and the steering box.
If you got the headers used, it is a whoops kinda since they don't seem to me to be the proper set for the truck.
If new, I would take them back pretty quickly for an exchange or a refund.
I was about to click submit and wondered.. is the engine a big block?

EEEK!
Got pics?
And you may need to scrap that idea and have the headers custom made for it..
Know any good welder/fabricators with a tube bender?
Might have to run the tubes around the steering shaft for mock-up, then pull the steering shaft for the header installation and put it back in through the headers.
Other than that, all I can think of is either some straight pipes, upturned like a top fuelie and hoodless
Or just send the engine to me so I can build the Yugo sleeper I have always dreamed of

Hmmm..
Heim joints, tube bracing and u-joints come to mind for relocating the steering shaft around the headers.
It would be an all custom shaft most likely, possibly done by your weld-up guy, but seems to be the easiest idea I have other than the upturned headers and should keep it legal and safe for the street.
You might want to check on some hot rod forums for ideas on how to get or make the shaft properly.
One I am on that seems to have a lot of knowledge is Classic Car Forums
