If anyone is as mad as I am let me know. I was was looking on the internet and saw something about a new concept Bronco that Ford has designed. It's a little whimpy front wheel drive 2.0 Diesel powered YUPPIE machine. It looks alright but it's too similar to the Land Rover and HUMMER. Here's a link to read more.

Holy Crap, there is only like two posts and we already got a repost! if you read more about this new Bronco, you notice a few things that show it is not whimpy. i agree the part about it being primarily front wheel drive kinda blows, but it is full time four wheel drive. it has a asystem that knows when you need 4x4 and engages it. so it is a 4x4. it is a 2.0 L Turbo Deisel, WITH A N2O BUTTON! not many yuppie machines have nitrous and a winch. you say it is too simalar to a land rover and hummer, but neither have a removable top, but this new bronco does. this would be an awsome truck.

yup just saw it tonight on another board.
I was kinda hoping they would bring it back, and yet with the way all the other new vehicles look I didn't want them to bring it back.
It has its pros and cons.
like how much of its plastic?
and the whole 4x4 issue.
but on the plus side theres the winch
the true bronco removeable top
and its back the Bronco name
1970 Bronco 170
1978 Bronco 400
1978 Bronco 351
1979 Bronco 400
1990 Bronco 302

I'm sure everyone's seen it by now, several times. Myself, I'm not impressed, either with the concept, or any projected manufactured Bronco. It will never be the same as the old broncos, nor does it deserve to be brought back

The new Bronco looks like one of those toy cars you buy at Chevron for $5.00 when you fill your tank up. I'll take my rusty 79 with solid axles any day.

ive seen the new bronco concept awile ago and was impressed with the way it looks. anyone that knows where bronco begain with the 66-77 broncos can see the resemblance. everyone seems to be bringing the old mucle look back, ie mustang, chevy truck SSR, ford gt, ect. im personaly in the military in afghanistan and we have ford rangers with the four cylinder turbo and they surprized the shit out of me. im a firm beleiver in the v-8. as far as the drive train go's i dont know what to say, im a bit disapointed but i cant say ive experienced it. an idea i had would be to put the mustang cobra engine in it to offer a gasoline v-8. all together i love the new bronco idea. for some credability, i have a 74 bronco and love it, wouldnt trade it for the world. i also work at custom classic works, where i deal with classic muscle cars and REAL four wheel drive trucks. my boss has an award wining truck that has won shows and has been featured in mutiple magazines. if you would like to contact me personaly E-mail me at [email protected]

I personally would have liked to see a return of the big bronco myself. Let the classics live on. There is no need to be trying to recreate them. The fad right now is 'the bigger the better'. I am however impressed with all the technogly they have added to it, but I still think they should have gone big.

I still, after looking at it many times, cannot stand that Bronco! Why in the hell could they not just take and put a SuperDuty frontend onto a two door expedition or Excursion, with a removable top. Yeah it would be big, but big is beautiful. :D/

I'll hold my judgement for now. I really don't know how well a full time 4 wheel drive can perform off road. Has anyone been allowed to have one for testing yet? You know, like one of the off road magazine outfits that usually get new trucks from the manufacturers to put thru the paces. I find it hard to believe a full time 4x4 differential and axles can be very strong, but then I've been wrong before <):) .

I don't think they should have called it a Bronco and agree that the name should have stayed with the old guys  I think they tried to satisfy the Bronco lovers request to start manufacturing the Big Bronco again. They may have decided they couldn't put out something like the old bronco and make it fuel efficient enough.

As far as the styling, design theft is the name of the business now days. Instead of comming up with anything new, they copy the other guys design with a few twists  . That's why it's so hard to tell one car from another at a glance. Remember when a Ford looked like a Ford and a Chevy looked like a Chevy, now they all look like a Toyota :P . No disrespect to the ricers, some of them have awsome performance :-" and Jeeps ain't too shabby either.

:)>-
