I had a bunch of parts lying around and decided to make a really big truck and here it is . I took an 81 2 wheel drive shortbox frame and 84 dana 60 full floater rear axle a 79 dana 44 front 3/4 ton axle a 99 skyjacker superduty 6 inch lift and a set of 40 inch ground hawgs and WOW . I had an 84 3/4 ton F250 for alot of donor parts but every last one of the front suspension brackets had atleast one hole punched in the frame that matched up to the bracket so aligning everything was very easy . Was thinking that the frames had to be the same for length from back of the cab forward because all body parts are interchangable so they must mount on the same place and they do . I used a C6 tranny that my tranny guy put the gear set from an E4OD in it so 1st and 2nd gear are lower than normal which is good because I didnt want to spend alot on gears was trying to use up stuff I had lying around . It has a very healthy 351W. The cab is a 92 front clip is from a 92 bronco . Box is from a dual tank extended cab 95 F150 . This kind of conversion can be done on any bronco as well , I got a really good deal on the lift off ebay normally cost 1380 pretty much anywhere and I got it for $650 shipped . Im thinking all together I have around $3500 into it . And I just finished up the plow frame for it yes I said plow frame the tires are what I ran on my old 1983 plow truck for years what better thing to plow with other than tractor tires ( lol ) Never had any problems pushing snow with it and last year the clutch blew up and the body was falling off so I decided to make a new one which was what started the idea for this project . Ill have some pics of it with the plow soon . Let me knwo what you guys think . :D

Hey blade how do those ground hawgs hold up on pavement, and do they work well in mud? I am in the market for larger tires, all I have are 35's need atleast 38's or 40's.

I got those tires new in like 1999 they have been run on the pavement for some time and alot in the dirt and snow and show very little wear . Ground hawgs are very hard tires thats why they last so long . If you looking for something that rides really nice and is quiet on the pavement there NOT for you . I had them on an 83 F250 longbox before this truck . Also if you have a leaf sprung front end you have to set the stops for these tires as the lugs will come in and lock onto the leaf spring not a good situation with a locker in the front . :D

Where I live (north of Dallas) we don't get nothin' but a few inches of snow a year ever but I would like to have a plow like that to push butt-heads off the road with.

It actually runs and drives very well . A buddy of mine does trannies and he put an E4OD gear set in it for 1st and 2nd so its lower geared in those 2 gears helps get those 40s movin with 4:10 gears . Everything is good on it so far only thing I may have to go back and redo is the front axle I tipped it up to straighten drive shaft angle and now im dealing with the caster being a little off so it wants to wander a bit. I need to take it over and try it on dry pavement with hubs unlocked so I can see if its the posi front end thats adding to it. but all in all it went very good Im goona get it painted this spring so it will look really nice . Putting that 99 superduty lift on there really put it a ways in the air. My 91 bronco has a superlift 6 inch and from the bottom of the rear frame to the top of the spring measures 7 inches this thing with a 6 inch skyjacker superduty lift measures 15 inches . Lifting a bronco this way would be easy too as I used a 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive frame and almost bolted all the 3/4 ton brackets on it so it was an easy swap started with a completely bare frame and had a standing truck in a couple months and most all of it was stuff I had laying around from previous projects . Glad you like it :D
