Below photos show a 351 that had overheating problems.
The fix was was to add circulation to the rear of the motor. You can do this by cutting out the intake manifold gaskets where its blocked off on the manifold, drilled and tapped a fitting into the manifold so water will pass into the motor.
The T in the photo goes up to abother T on the heater hose. That it.
