I think there are allot of people out there that would love to turn their 2wd into a 4wd truck, and beleive me if you don't have pateince and a deep wallet then I sugest that you don't mess with this project. in 77 there were two different kinds of trucks produced, the highboy, and the lowboy 4x4. the highboy will be very difficult to find parts for, sometimes you get lucky on ebay, but most of those trucks went to certain parts of the country and if you dont live in those parts of the country where they are dime a dozon, I highly sugest selling and getting even a brand new 4x4 from the dealership, it'll be cheaper. I just tried getting parts for a front end off the early 77 highboy, took four years of looking, and research, but finaly got it done, gears were $500 installed, you can't get the one piece hub/rotor anymore so it cost $300 to get spindles, hub, rotor, outer axles, and bearing off late 77-79. anyway good luck with your decision

i would think if 4x4 frame is in good shape. you should be able to just take parts off of the 2wd the tranny might not match up to t-case but not sure. best of luck.

If you go to sell your differentials for the 4x4 I am in desperate need of a front differential for my 77 f-250 highboy
