Have you checked the starter relay on the sidewall? If its bad and stuck partway it would kill power to everything but the starter and ignition and still may not allow it to start.Try rapping on it with a screwdriver handle and then try starting as normal. If that doesnt work put a test light or meter on the starter side and have someone try to start it, if it shows no juice its probably bad.A replacement is usually less than 20 dollars.I hope this works for you.

i replaced that two times and both times it went out and i don't know why. i was wondering if i replace the starter relay and the battery and the wires that go to the rely to the battery and the relay to the starter would that work you think. also if that dont work wat could it be. i really dont want to have to get rid of the truck case i just got it all primered and i was in the prosess of starting to paint it so it would really suck if it is something major wrtong with it.
thanks andy

start with the battery cables.I would get a test light and clip it to the body ground coing off the battery.check for power at the post,at the relay, have some turn the key and hold it check for power at other side of relay,at the little S post,at the starter.I'd replace the clamps(cheap),the cables(all three)if you don't have a ground strap from batt to body, put one on.and engine to body and or frame.
if you still have problems look for power in all the fuseable links and the ignition switch.

Had the same problem with my truck..........turned out it was the battery cables.

I chopped off the factory crimped on ends and replaced with new bolt on ends, cleaned terminals and reinstalled now it works like a champ.
