1996 F-150 I had the 308 gears changed to 355 with a pos unit. Before doing this the speedometer worked perfect now it is all screwed up. After the installation when it reaches about 55 or 60 it would go crazy jumping from 50 to65 erratically I took it back to the garage that performed the work and they supposedly installed a new sensor and put a new sensor ring in the rearend now it does the same thing at 70 to75 jumping from 75 back to 50 and so on .This is terrible when trying to use cruise control. Thanks in advance for any help.------------Bluetick

The 92 to 96 uses a PSOM programable speedometer odometer module . Did you notice you dont have a speedometer cable coming from the tranny ? It is all electric that module lies behind the glovebox its gold in color . You will have to take it to a ford garage to have it reprogrammed for the new gears or if you check out superlift they have a module that they call a true speed calibrator or something like that that lets you tune it to the gears . Hope that helps :D
