I have a 99 250SD, V-10, ex-cab, SWB, 4x4, auto, 2.5" leveling kit in front, 1" block in back & 375/55/16 (33x15.5x16) M.T. ATZ's. I 1st changed to the Ebay Y pipe & never heard any flutter even though I had a few broke/rusted manifold bolts on both sides. Also when I changed the Y pipe I swapped the hubs to S/S MileMarkers & with both a those mods I was getting int the 11 mpg range. Next mod was to swap in the Ebay S/S headers & that's when I noticed the flutter, it was only at around town driving because when I would get up to 55 or better the tire hum would drowned it out. Next mod was to replace the cat & muffler w/ a S/S 3" bullet cat & FM 70 exiting out the factory location, but that sounded like crap (like a ricer). Swapped out the FM70 for a FM50 Suv. Sounds just as bad if not worse. I'm getting in the 12 mpg range now. My next move is going to put the factory muffler back on.

After swapping the headers I've lost my low end. I used to be able to turn my tires over in the yard & now not. Except for swapping to long headers is there something I can do to the exhaust to get it back? I've also thought about getting a tuner.
