i have a 85 1504x4 300-6. BUILT motor, ab 400hp, factory new process435 just died, i hate this tranny, it would be ok for a tractor, but i want closer gear ratios, and mabe more gears. first never gets used, and second is where first should be, third is to high, and forth, hang it up. i want to go to a 5spd od, like in the 90s 150, but how hard would it be to adapt to my bellhousing, transfercase, and mounts. has anyone ever done this? the only outher option is to go to a aod, and i hate auto trans, for guys that cant shift.

I must be one of those guys that cant shift. There is no lag time in a automatic unlike the time it take you to shift. As for the 435 its one of the most durrable 3 speed with granny low gear out there. So if you want a car stile 4/5 speed then buy you a car. Or learn how to shift gears with a real transmission like a 435 and maybe you wont broke it.
!!!!!!!! Dagblasted MALL KRAWLERS buy them selfs a big 4x4 with a little "hp" an they think it's nascar ready!!!!!!!!!!
An I'm not trying to piss you off I'm just venting over the aod comment. Sorry if I did!
