hi,can anybody help,ford has special bolts for leaf springs do anyone know what purpose are those special bolts.

Need just a little more info. Are you talking about the centerpins in the spring packs or the mounting bolts for the shackels and spring eye? The centerpins you can get from most parts house's they come in diffrent sizes and most are cut to length. As for the shackels and spring eye Ford used a Grade 8 Bolt with a shoulder head and nut. Hope this helps.

Grade 8 might work good - but I prefer hardened and tempered. Grade 8 is only hardened. Axle - U bolts hold the axle to the springs. Leaf spring centering studs hold all the springs in a row (along with the midway clamps near each end). And eye bolts hold the leaf spring ends the the shackle or brackets. Unless you mean the rivets holding on the actual brackets to the frame.

the shoulder acts like a flat washer, and eliminates one by having it molded to the bolt head. you'll see the same on the nuts.
