i ran my pickup out of gas one time so i put gas in it got so it would run but not good so i put a new fuel filter on it and i pressurised it like thwey say in the hanyes book and then it ran for a while then quit now if i depressurize the fuel sytem by pressing on the sherder vavle then re priming it i can it to run for a while the pump runs while the engines is running im not sure what it could be i know it has low fuel pressure but im not sure what to do any help?

If it�s got low fuel pressure it needs a new pump. Certain fuel burners require certain pressure if you don't want to go OEM with it just make sure the one you get meets the needs of the truck and or has a pressure regulator of sorts.

Fuel in the tank helps keep the fuel pump cool. If you ran it out of gas, or if you run on a low tank often, your fuel pump is out of the fuel and can heat up.....reducing the life of your pump. I agree with 1992F250, your pump is probably on its last leg.

Could be allot of trash in pump that plugged new filter . Cheap fix.

I have run out several times over the years . Never had problems (no it is not a good idea ). But pumps do die even with not running out of gas . Swap filter then look at it being pump.

My current 94 front tank is so loud u can feel it. But 50000 miles still kicking . I have another to put in ASAP.
