This may have been covered but i didn't see it in the search i did. is there a company that sells a;; the brake lines and everything for a brake system. My old abused 79 f-150 has clogs and much more wrong with the brakes. only two brakes work one front and one rear. did a flush didn't get better. so want to just replace the whole brake system then i know it is all good. trying to keep it simple. i bleed each brake and only getting black fluid and not out from the two that are working. the tee's are working just the lines are bad so any help would be great.

yeah there is a catolog called lmc truck you have to select 73-79 ford i think every line for your truck is around 100.00 for the set. every thing else exept for the distrubution valve can be bought a part store. those valves can get expensive if you think thats bad i would try to clean it first.

i right now am flushing all the parts with denatured alcohol (100% alcohol) and seems to be ok. haven't gotten it all together yet but thanks for the links in case it fails. i use lmc truck jsut don't have a catalog and didn't look there. lol duh me.

my poor cheap truck has become an expensive non drivable vehicle. was a 4x4 toy and they never changed the fluids anywhere as i think i said so having to tear the pumpkins apart and clean and inspect so far so good. no metal shavings.

another kind of off topic but not. my a/c has been removed prior to my getting it. there is no parts left. i just want to know if there is a good way to add an a/c pump for on-board air.

i need to redo the complete heating unit as well. anyone have good news where to get those parts. junk yard i know but the case and everything is cracked and abused. the pumps and fan and heater core are all good just the outside case is broke and the fan is broke even though it turns. so i get everything sounding like it works and nothing inside the cab of my truck. the truck is a 79 f-150 with a 460ci engine. standard cab lifted 6inches.

remove the line going to the rear from the proportioning valve, and see if fluid runs out when someone pushes the pedal. If not, it's either plugged or stuck closed. It costs around 4230-$250 for a new stock one, so you might want to go witht a cheaper aftermarket one. I bought one from JEG's for about $40, and it's adjustable. sorry for double post i didn't check where i had previous posts and just made one. thank you. yeah i may have to go with a new one. i took off the rear line and no fluid coming out. the front is great. i will check tomorrow and see if its plugged was getting dark when i checked it. so atleast narrowed it all down to one thing. i will have to look up legs and get a price.

real quick the ones from jegs don't handle the rear brake lights how did you rig the rear lights to come up when you step on the brakes?

hey guys, first time post. read your issue and had to chime in. i just completed a complete brake system on my 78 F150 including the proportioning valve. i found an aftermarket for $85 at inlinetube.com, everything works great now. they also carry all the other brake parts you will need. i was very inpressed with price and service. there was one thing that didn't match exactly. i had to get a couple different sized fittings for the brake lines and the electrical switch on the top didn't have the same plug. i haven't replaced the plug yet, but i found one on another site that i can't remember right now. when i find it again i'll post it. the plug was only around $15, if i remember right. hope this helps and good luck.

any updates? when you bled the brakes did you start from the farthest point away first?
rear passenger side, then rear driver side, then front passenger side, driver side?

just wondering. i had a similar issue on another vehicle and i did not do the above.
once i redid it the way stated above the brakes worked great.
