hey guys...my 79 f150 is acting up again...my idle is so messed up...when i start it up, it idle is high til i let it warm up and kick it down...but after that the idle revs high and then low to the point of almost shutting off..i changed all the vaccum lines so they're fine, the only thing i can think of is that its the choke or the gasket...if anyone can help that would be awesome...thanks guys

Paulie

Check to see if carb and intake manifolds bolts are tight, leaking EGR valve or plugged PCV valve. carb may need to be adjusted or you may want to check timing.

well the problem is back and now im lost...i adjusted the idle set screw in, and the truck ran fine for 5mins and then it went back to the reving up and back down to the point where it just shut off...i looked in the carb at the house when the truck is on and i have no fuel dripping from the idle jets...could that be because of the idle set screw not stayin in place? need help with this bc we have some crazy weather comin to PA

When was the last time the carb was rebuilt? It may need to be looked at.
