Hi ! New to this . I have a 2003 F350 Super duty 7.3 L . The power steering line from hydro booster to gear box blew so I replaced both. Now pump makes growling noise and everything works good as long as rpm's are up. But if hit brakes in a turn steering gets hard . Would it be my pump or hydo booster? Do not know how to test Hydro booster!

I think the growling sound maybe excessive back pressure in hoses caused by restriction or might be something wrong internally with the pump. How's fluid level?
