i have a 73 ford f100 ranger with a 360, 5.9L just put a new carb on it because the last one was shot. i also put new plugs, wires, points & condenser, fuel filters. i got the points gaped right and the carb dialed but the carb back fires when giving it gas.

Are your plug wires crossed? Have you checked for vacuum leaks around carb or manifold?
