I have a 79 f150.. came stock with a 302 and c4 a/t. I have replaced the engine with a 302 (5.0L) from an 87 e150. All went well except now I have a vibration in the engine, appears to be in the rotating assembly. Does it any time, worse as rpms increase. Moving or not. Same trans as before, harmonic balancer from 79 engine. Any help??? Any ideas???

Their are various causes for engine vibrations ,Check for lose or disconnected air or vaccum hose.It could also vibrate because your engine's one or two cylinders are not working properly causing engine miss.If it happens than check your spark plug ,it could be due to the spark plug conditions are not good. Also check the ignition wires connections they should be connected properly.Even harmonic balancer worn out can create engine vibration.

another cause of engine vibration is a cracked flex plate i have that in my 429 and c6 combo, also check that the torque converter nuts are tight, a loose tc will also cause a vibration
