just got 85 460 that had 4 speed behind it,wanting to put in 78'f250 with 4 speed,should this be difficult swap or no?new to forrum so any and all advice will be appreciated

Hi there,yes it will fit with a little work.just got done putting a 460 in my 79 Supercab 4x4.you can get all your parts from Jeffs Bronco and L&L.

thanks for the reply,other than frame and engine mounts any words of wisdom to make it go smoother?have catalogs from both jeff's and L&L

Hi again,As you probably know they never put 460's in the 73 to 79 f250 4x4's.you need new motor mounts from L&L,new alternator brackets and a power steering bracket from Jeffs or L&L.Not sure if the ones off the 85 will work.And then the new exhaust either the new custom headers or truck manifolds.Some people have used the wrong manifold and cut the frame which is not a good idea.the 460 engine is bigger than the 351/400m(I call them boat anchors)so the fan on mine is real close to the radiator.CT
