hey yall im new to the site.
so im having starting issues with my 79 F150 ranger 2wd. it was starting and running fine a few days ago. on friday i got home from work and went to warm her up to go out to dinner. the truck was cranking over but not firing up. kept trying and broke the gear on the starter. so this morning i replaced the starter and still no start. i was low on fuel so i added 3 gallons checked for fuel delivery to the carb, which i have by the way, still no start. i have very weak spark from the coil. i havent checked every plug wire yet( had to leave to my parents for dinner) but on the way i just decided to pick up a new distributor, cap, and rotor. may not be issue but it wont hurt having new dizzy.will install new parts tomorrow after work. the engine will turn over but just wont fire up.
by the way its the 400 6.6 engine with c6 tranny
any thoughts?
i dont have time to deal with this if i cant get it going during this thanksgiving break, i live literally right across the street from my local shop and will push it there ad have them deal with it if no success this coming weekend. my lease is up and am moving end of decmber i need it running by then to make my move.
thanks for any thoughts or help
