We are the proud owners of an '87 Bronco II. It's a 2 wheel drive. She recieved a new transmission a few months ago, but now there is something wrong with the dummy transfer case, and we can not seem to find one. How can I save this car from the crusher? ( Husband running out of patience)

I dont know al the in and outs of these cases, but I belive they were used to eleminate more drive shafts to stock. Maybe you could take it out and have a custom drive shaft built. Cheeck prices to see what the damage would be. Also cheeck the trans tai shaft might have to be changed. Could be an option.

Another option would be to replace it with a 4x4 T-case. All you would need is the front diff(complete), front shaft, the T-case, and the manual shift linkage.

What's wrong with the 2wd case? It SHOULD just be an empty shell with a solid through-shaft to the rear output.....
