What is like the cheapest suspension lift out (but quality) and how much would one cost for like a 4" lift?

Rough Country has their 4" kit for $449.00, while the higher-quality kits from folks like Skyjacker or Superlift are $495-$505 for the basic kit with shocks. I think the differences in strength in the drop-down brackets and front coils is worth an extra $50 if you plan to do much offroading.

Whats a basic kit? Would it have everything i need?

The basic kit will include lifted coil springs for the front, drop brackets for the front axle beams, a drop Pitman arm for the steering, blocks for the rear springs, and 4 shocks. Options to consider adding are 2 more longer shocks if you have the quad-front on some Broncos, extended radius arms instead of drop brackets for the factory ones, and lifted spring packs for the rear. I think you will get a better deal ordering the kit online rather than your local 4-wheel drive shop. I have had good results with parts from Rocky Mountain Suspension. Some 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers stores are good, and some will rip you off. If you decide to have a shop install the kit for you, labor should run about $425-$450.

Keep in mind what your final goal is for the Bronco, too. A 6" suspension lift kit is nearly the same price as a 4", but you can run 35" tires instead of 33's on the 6". My plans are to race my 84 Bronco in mud drags, so I wanted the 35's. I know of several folks that have bought a 4" kit and wish they had gone with a 6" instead. If you just want a weekend trail rig for occaisional use, then a 4" with 33's will be better.

I have never put a lift in a Bronco before but I did do one in my first rig a jeep cherokee. The lift kit prices vary lots depending upon what type of lift you use for the rear. Dont get me wrong the front has many options for lift that will change price also but the rear is where the big differences seem to be to me. Now if you want to go with full new rear leaf spring packs(best idea) you will be looking at spending the most. If you want a add-a-leaf wheare they send you 2 new individual leaves that change the curvature of the leafs then you will be looking at spending probably between 150-250 dollars less? The only problem with add-a-leafs are that if the curvature (angle) of the leaf isnt right it will most likely blow out your other springs and then you will end up buying all new leafs anyways. Then there is blocks, blocks are cheap easy to put in but to me worthless. I would put body lift in before I put any blocks in. The reason bieng is that blocks creat axle wrap and this isnt good.

Now remember I have never done a Independent suspension lift.
