how to fix remove all of the broken pieces and clean . then install two 1/4" nuts stacked flat on each other into each of the three openings( highlighted spots on pic), then put in some quality grease, put the gear back in place . reinstall the cover plate and reinstall motor . This will not fail until the motor frys.
