I have an 87 mercury grand marques with a efi 302 and AOD transmission that I would like to rebuild and put in my 84 full size bronco. The bronco now has a 302 with a c6 transmission. Is it a worthwhile project and could anybody have a list of steps for the swap?

the subject of swaping a carbed engine for an EFI has come up here several times in recent posts. Yes it can be done, but a lot of work. There are aftermarket kits to do the computer control and wiring or you will have to fit in the computer from the donor vehicle. I love my carbed 351 / C6 combo. It would be nice to have the OD for highway cruise for better milage, but since I don't spend much time in that mode, the OD wouldn't buy me much.

If fuel economy is your goal, you might want to consider the expense of conversion vs how much gas you could buy with that money. Like how many miles would you have to drive getting a couple more MPG to break even with the cost of conversion. Personlly I don't think it is worth it.

Good luck, :)>-
