I just buy a 2005 Ford F150 Lariat 4X4 whit the 5.4l engine it has 83000 milles, the truck is fine runs perfect but the only thing that i notice is that the engine sounds like a diesel engine.
A friend of myne told to change the oil to sintetyc, but i didnt find any sintetyc oil whit the recomended viscosity which is 5w20 i only find 5w50, the manual says that the oil has to be 5w20 or 5w30.
My question is, can i put the 5w50 sintetyc oil on it? will this be a problem to the engine?
I will realy appreciate your coments or suggestions.

NOT SURE WHAT SINTETYC OIL IS. BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SYNTHETIC OIL THEN MOBIL 1 MAKES 5-20W AVAILABLE AT WALMART.
Sorry for the wrong spelled of the word synthetic, thanks a lot for your suggestion that is what i did.
I find this oil at a NAPA store and put it on the truck, the noise in the engine didn�t stop but is not to laud now.

Ford recommends the use of 5w20. In fact, they push 5w20 for all the Modular V8's, and even back dated the older Modulars to use 5W20. They tested the 5W20 Motorcraft oil enough to recommend usage for all the Modulars.
That being said, if you have cold winters run 5W20 or 5W30. Because of the engines tighter tolerances, and the OHC design, a thinner oil cold will be a better choice so it flows to the upper cylinder heads quicker. If you live in a hot climate, 10W30 wouldn't be a bad choice, but the engine was designed to use 5W30/5W20.
