put in reverse and got a whining sound, also nothing in drive or lows, then a grinding noise when I put in park. A few hours later when I tried to move it again, it was fine!!!! Just bought this thing a couple of weeks ago and am wondering if I should shool it or myself!!!!

Check the t-case shifter/ and or linkage,
sounds like t-case was in neutral...
You will probably be able to duplicate the scenario by shifting the t-case to neutral and shifting the tranny through the gears.
