I thought I'd put my 2 cents worth in.
I have a pretty much stock 1966 half-cab, 200 inline 6.
The trail is on Vancouver Island, it Starts just south of Sooke at Habourveiw Rd.I think it is about 15-20km to the lake if you go staight there, but there are plenty of side trails to try. It is a moderate to difficult trail to negotiate with a number of stream crossings and some hair-raising log 'bridges'. It is on the egde of rainforest country so it can be pretty wet some times. There are excellent hill climbs, mud bogs, exsposed rock, and other natural hazards to play on. The lake is great swiming in the summer. The only thing this trail doesn't have is open country to really let you get going very fast, but there are plenty and I mean plenty of logging roads close by. Just wacth out for the logging trucks ie. use a CB/VHF radio. Sooke was also home to the Vancouver Island Rock Crawl event.
Have fun out there! :)>-
P.S. Any news about wheeling in the West Kooteneay would be great to hear.
