Hi all,

I have been scouring forums and the Internet and cannot seem to find much on my issue.

I bought this truck a few months ago and it runs great on the front tank.  The fuel pump on the rear tank was bad, so I replaced it.  It ran fine for a bit, but then went to randomly, spitting and sputtering and laboring to move forward.  I had a bad seal on the vapor valve, so I replaced that, hoping it was a EVAP issue, no dice, same problems.  I have not changed the vapor valve because, at this point, I am tired of dropping that tank and I don't want to do it again unless I absolutely have to.

I know this year truck had a recall on the cross over fuel switch, I haven't checked to see if that was done, but I can tell you that no fuel goes from the front tank to the back tank as I have run that back tank empty multiple times (because it has been dropped multiple times) and it is always empty; I don't know if it pumps rear to front though, but I have not had any of the symptoms of that problem.

I know a bad vapor valve, vacuum leaks, bad check valve in the other fuel pump and possibly the cross over fuel switch/valve can cause these issues but I really don't want to keep dropping tanks and replacing stuff if I don't have to.

I will be testing the inertia switch, relays and fuel tank switch, hopefully it is one of those.

Any help/tips on where to start would be appreciated.

Shuttle Selector Valve
The Shuttle Selector Valve opens the return line to the tank when the fuel pressure on the shuttle diaphragm exceeds the opposing spring force. The return flow is directed to the appropriate tank on vehicles equipped with dual tanks.
"The supply check valve, which is normally closed, opens when the outlet pressure from the energized pump exceeds the opposing check valve spring force. When the fuel pump is de-energized (i.e., engine is shut off), the supply check valve closes to maintain pump prime and fuel supply tube pressure."
