I just bought a 86 ford bronco, 302 fuel injected, and i want to know if i can swap frontends from a newer bronco, mainly the lights and grille, i have to replace the fenders and the core support is mangled on the drivers side bottom corner and can be replaced as necessary, is it possible to do these conversions, also I am looking for a 351 that is carbed, i need to switch my truck over from the fuel injection to carb and need some ideas and suggestions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1)It shouldn't be too much of a hassle more than you have going. I'm not sure if the headligh/wiring harnesses are the same... You'll need a new hood and fenders, as well as the little chingadera strip below the grill. A new grill too. Also, keep in mind the body lines are different. The '86 I'm pretty sure has an indentation just abouve the fender arches from front to rear (similar to the '85 if not identical); and I'm not 100% sure on this (did they change in '87??) so some one else help me out if I'm wrong.
2)Why change? a 5.0 fueli is pretty easy to get more power out of and the power#'s are not that much smaller then a 351W carbed :-B . Pretty much 95% of 5.0 Mustang go faster parts will bolt on. I don't see the reward being worth the hassle. (But then again, I DID convert to diesel.... :-" )

It will fit just fine except that the rear body lines are not going to be the same . 80 to 86 have like an indented body line and 87 to 96 have the flared out body line . :D

I've seen one done and I think it was an 84 changed to a 94. Body lines all matched up

On the 80 to 86 the body lines indent and on 87 to 96 they flare out . If you put the 94 front clip on it the front end will look correct but the rear body lines on the tub will be the old style indent for the 80 .

Welcome to the Zone and good luck on your conversion. I once (still do from time to time  ) dream of putting a SuperDuty frontend on my Bronx...lots and lots of money, time, plasma torches, and blood. Good Luck! :D/
