Did all 87 to 96 broncos com with four shocks in the front?

No,not all. It was an option.
1984 Bronco XLT, 351W H.O., C-6 AT, Ford 9", SkyJ 6" lift, 35" tires on MT Classic rims, S&W Racecars 10-pt cage kit, custom "shaker" assembly.
1988 Bronco Custom, 302 EFI, C-6 AT, Ford 8.8". parting out
1986 Bronco Custom, 300I-6, NP435

mine is a 84 and the shocks under it are dual im not sure y they put the dual on them i think it really makes it ride ruff but good for crawlin:)

Just like many dealer options.. to make more money, a selling point, so your new bronco is tougher looking than your neighbors etc etc etc..

They came with vehicles equipped with the towing package.

If your going from four to two does it matter which ones you replace?

i've seen lots of people leave out the front shock on the quad setup. the ttb spring has a tendency to slide forward a hair and hit the front shock.

My Bronco is a "Northland Edition" meaning it was made for plowing, and other cold weather stuff. I do know the dual shocks are awesome for supporting a snowplow...but like everyone else has said, its a factory option usually for the tow package.
