Any transmission that was behind a 300, 302, 351C and 351W will fit your engine. That gives you a choice of a c4, a c6 (stronger than the 4) AOD, and an E4OD

Probably true. But we might give such insightful advise he may actually register. My sage wisdom for today is (drumroll................................) C-6!!!That's what I'm sayin... slap in a C6

a c-4 would be a good trans for that engine lighter weight and still strong
enough you should make sure it is a 4X4 trans and it would be a good idea to install an integrity cooler the cost is low and they will keep the trans. cooler
