What other auto trans will fit in my 87 bronco with a 302 motor. Will C4 bolt to transfer case?

Any transmission that was behind a 300, 302, 351C and 351W will fit your engine. That gives you a choice of a c4, a c6 (stronger than the 4) AOD, and an E4OD

That's what I'm sayin... slap in a C6

But I doubt any of this matters, since it's unlikely the person will be back

C6 would be my vote they are really strong, probably not even comparable to an AOD they will take 10 times teh beating of a stock AOD

Probably true. But we might give such insightful advise he may actually register. My sage wisdom for today is (drumroll................................) C-6!!!

a c-4 would be a good trans for that engine lighter weight and still strong
enough you should make sure it is a 4X4 trans and it would be a good idea to install an integrity cooler the cost is low and they will keep the trans. cooler
for longer life and better performance
