Hi I just bought a 1978 f 150 and I wanted to add a performance muffler to it. What I was wondering is if anyone had any advice or thoughts about which muffler to choose. I don't want something that will be so loud that I can't hear my music in the cab, but I also don't want a weak sound either. I was considering a cherry bomb glass packed or a flowmaster delta flow 40 series, has anyone had any experience with these. I am running a 351m and I want it to still sound like a 351m not like a japanese sports car ( if that makes any sense). Any advice or comments would be great. Thanks

I use to run 2 1/4 inch pipe on mine with 12inch glass packs and 4inch echo tips.I had the tip behind the rear tire.I was loud out side the truck but was nice in side the cab.you could hear it but it wasnt lould unless you git next to a guard rail where it echoed back.I was running a 351m in it then.Now it has a 460 with l&l headers with a set off single chamber flower master under hooked to the header with a turn down.Now its kinda loud.But I do like the 40 seris flower master.They sound good as well.

L&L headers with single chamber flowmasters and turn downs and L&L ladder bars
4in ruff country lift with a 2in body kift.
35x12.50-15 mud tires on 15x10 chrome and black modular rims
cd player,2 amps,2 600watt Sony 10s
4.10 gears with a locker in the rear
Future plans is to level it up .Hate the ass end sitting higher that the front.AND scrap the crappy C-6 for a manual.
1985 Bronco 427 small block
Small cam for the moment,all aluminam top end
max cool radator,headers and 2 1/2 exhast with flowmaster and echo tips
C-6 with a 208 transfer
33x12.50-15 all terrain tires
8000 warn winch and brush guard
Needs a 5 speed and a solid front axle liek it should have came!!!!!!!!

Stock 5.8 with E40D tranny
Push button 4x4
True dual exhaust with NO cat under it.
32x12.50x15 Maxxis mudders
220,000 miles and still runs like new.
Just needs a 5 speed in it and a solid front axle like it should have came!!!!
