I have a 78 f250 extended cab with a 6" soft ride lift. I gust swapped the C6 for a 4speed with a NP 205. I had a drive line made. When I put the drive line in it binds up and wont rotate the drive line hits the yolk on the transfer case. Does any one have any advise?

I have a 79 f-150 and i also put a 6in superflex kit on. When i put my front driveshaft in i could not
turn it.So i talked to some driveshaft guys they said to take a die grinder and cut some of the yoke where it hits.
I did that and found out that i also had to grind some of the inside of the doublejoint on the driveshaft.I don't know if
this i right but it worked.

noooooo do not grind off anything. that will just make weak points. is the front axle a high or a low pinion? in the 1st half of 77 and earlier these trucks were low pinion with divorced trannys, in the later half on, they were high pinion and married. I have 9 inches on 44's and I have a high pinion married case with no probs. if you have a low pinion rear then that's your problem, you need a high pinion. but if u still have a problem, the only other thing you can do is run a divorced case. your angles will be great. I personally don't like to run a divorced because it's another drivshaft and 2 more u-joints to worry about, but if it's what you gotta do then do it.

My truck has a married transfer case and a high pinion so it should have worked. What I ended up doing was getting a drive line with a CV joint (out of a Chevy blazer) and that cured the problem at the transfer case. But the driveling was still hitting the yolk on the third member. I thought about putting pitch blocks in the front but really didn't want to. So I was standing in my yard wandering what the f to do, and one of my buddies stopped by in his 76 Chev whit 6" of lift. I crawled under his truck witch has a fairly sever drive line angel, his truck had a deeper yolk. So I went to the junk yard and found the yolk I needed and now every thing is just peachy
PS: I had to change the yolk on the transfer case, and the housing that holds the front seal, It had a larger diameter. (wish I would have known before driving all the f-in way home.)
