I need to replace my gas tank. We have found one from a '76 that looks the same, but is it too wide?

is it in the cab!? if yes where did you find it? I have a 76 F250 with the tank in the cab and can not find atank for it period. my tank has rust in it!! so it wont run because the lines are cloggingI need to replace my gas tank. We have found one from a '76 that looks the same, but is it too wide?
