Hey i have a 1966 ford truck i use for plowing and gathering wood , well i broke my driver side front axle ... total destruction of the u-joint inside . Ive looked on ebay and i cant seem to find a 19 spline inside and outside ( wheel side ) axle for it . is this a rare one ? or can someone point me in the right direction to find one ? thanks

also would this be the right one for it ? this is the link to the one i thought might work . but i can not tell if it has 19 spline on both side. link------> Axle

  • Interests:I love restoring trucks, old or newer. The oldest I have put back on all four is 1965, the newest basket case is 1993. I have restored more 73 thru 79 than any others. My favorite year is 1979. at one time I had as many as 28 trucks, I have lots less now. If interested I do have access to lots of parts still, 4x4 and otherwise but not too many Sno-fighter Dana-60 Front-ends though. Those were the chosen few from 78-and 79 one-tons and 250's.

If this is a closed knuckle front end,I dont know where you will find the replacement outer axel unless someone has pulled one from their rig and just kept it for some reason.
The open knuckle front-ends came along about 1973 with disc brakes and all.
It might be easier to find a replacement f-250 big lock-out 3800 Dana 44 open knuckle front-end for around $150.00 or so.
Guys were changing the open-knuckled "44's" for "Snow-fighter Dana 60's" found in 1978/79 era F250/350.
Sometimes you can find the 44's for around $150.00 or so. The Dana 60 snow fighters high penions are much much more like $ 1000,00 to $1500.00 or so. E-Bay is a good place to start looking.
