Can I fit 31 X 10.50 tires on a stock '79 F-150 4x4?

How large can you go without clearance issues?

you should have no problems with 31's on a stock suspension. if you go any bigger you might have clearance issues.

bronco,s

When I bought one of my 78 bronco,s. It had 32-12.5 on it and it does not have a lift kit and the tires did not rub. Later on. I put the same tires on my other bronco and never had any problems.

On 79 and older f-150s your can run a 33x12.50 on it at stock height.THe trouble is when you turn sharp teh tire will hit the radius arm and rub. With a 2in body you can run 35x12.50 no problem other than it hitting the radus .but you have plenty of cleance is you sink to the tire up in the wheel well while 4 wheeling.I stepped my 77 up to 6inches of lift and had 38x15.50 super swampers on it.It was close in the front but it cleared ok.My on problem was it rubbed the raduis arms on sharp turns and the ps front tire would rub the hear on that side.I have the l&l headers that come out ove the frame rails. But I stepped back down to a 35.in tir once I wore out the 38s.Didnt need that big a tire.
1977 F-150 460 makeing around 400hp ( My Pride and Joy)Told the X wife she would go
C-6 with shift kit before the truck would
L&L headers with single chamber flowmasters and turn downs and L&L ladder bars

35x12.50-15 mud tires on 15x10 chrome and black modular rims
cd player,2 amps,2 600watt Sony 10s
4.10 gears with a locker in the rear
Future plans is to level it up .Hate the ass end sitting higher that the front.AND scrap the crappy C-6 for a manual.
