I have a 1977 1/2 year 3/4 ton p.u. I broke the drivers side stub shaft and when that broke it took out the spindle the tire fell off and ground down the caliper support. The axle is to my knowledge a D44. I believe that I located the right spindle, but not to sure if the D44 and the D60 spindles are the same? The one I got I was told was for a D44(got it used from junkyard). I was also able to resource a junkyard for the caliper support even though it shows alittle wear from a rim rubbing on it. The stub shaft I bought brand new was told its the only one for my truck and when I put it all together the stub shaft stuck out of the hub about an inch. Needless to say that I couldn't get the lock out cap on to finish the job. They tell me that the shaft meassure 10.66 inches from the center of the u-joint cap. Is there a shorter shaft for this truck. Please help any info is appreciated.
