well, im getting ready to buy another 1986 f150, but the carb the dude has on it is from a 89 f250, and it idles weird, but is that because of where the carb is getting flooded? and whenever i start it up i have to hold the gas all the way down to the floor and ittl bog down and gain accelerartion, if the truck is running rich is there black smoke that comes out, and the exhaust smells rich. and do yall have any websites or phone numbers to get a carb for the 86 model, and is there a difference between which carb i get? any help is appreciated, thx for your time.

Sounds like the carb is running rich and needs to be adjusted. You may want to look at the choke too, or it may also needs to be overhauled. The only thing that I can find about the different model carbs for '86 are: Model YF/YFA, Model 2150, and Model 4180C. What motor? 2 or 4 bbl?
