Hi, I have a 02' F-150 5.4 Triton who's transmission just decided to go on me... My question is can I use my 96' Explorer's Transmission in my truck? The Explorer has a 5.0 and the Truck has the 5.4.... are they interchangeable? Please help me ASAP!! Thank you so much!

its not a really good idea to try to use the same tranny. the tranny in your new one is mostly run by electronics and since it is on a modular motor it could cause some issues. the 5.4 is actually the old 5.8. with a few mods. if you have a tranny shop near by they may beable to rebuild it and if you request it to beef it up a few notches.
