I am looking at replacing my transmission with a new one since mine is currently slipping. I wanted to know if a 66 galaxy 460 with a c6 would work in my 79 ford f250 with a 460. Any help or advice would be great.

some older and maybe soem newer truck transmissions have a bolt on yoke for the drivesahft. so that may be a factor. but i think the bolt on yoke stopped in 72. but it may have continued into the 73-79 trucks like f350 im not sure. as far as will the car trans fit. yes it will fit and work. driveshaft hookup and length will be your biggest problem. the shift linkage should be very similar.
