i just bought a 79 dana 60 out of mass for $600 i put it in my truck today but the u-bolt plate on the bottom of the axle sits snug againts one of the pumpkin cover bolts. Has this happened to any one else and if so what did you do to fix it.Did the guy give me the wrong u-bolt plates? i still have the ones from my dana 44 and the ones he gave me are the same as the old ones. thanks im hopefully going to get it back together by sunday for easter

i don't understand how it can be hitting or blocking the cover bolts. the u bolt flange is quite aways away from the rear cover. what am i missing?

this is in the front end the plate that holds the u bolts under the axle. it is hitting the bolt on the pumpkin if i knew how to up load pics i would.

What year is your truck and what is the frame width on yours verses the 79?
And are the spring perches on you old axle the same width apart as the 79 perches?
Very important as you might have to cut off the spring perches on the 79 D60 and move them?
Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I can help, but they are going to need to know
what year your truck is at a minimum. Good luck and great axle choice!!
